A brick monument sign with a pale stone panel carved 'CITY OF CANTON / HISTORIC DOWNTOWN' stands behind a bed of pink and red rose bushes. Behind it a bronze statue of a standing man in shirtsleeves holds an object at his chest, two women walk along a path at the right, yellow pedestrian-crossing signs and a black lamp post with a banner rise above, and a wrought-iron fence and trees with early autumn colour fill the background.

This list was checked on 2026-10-18 against each restaurant’s own website, the City of Canton’s Where to Eat & Drink list and Explore Canton’s downtown dining guide. The City’s list gives names but no addresses or hours, so we added both. Distances are straight lines from Cannon Park, 130 East Main Street, not walking routes. Each restaurant’s posted hours, copied as written, are in its card at the foot of this page. Where a place posts none, we say so.

Downtown eating comes in two clusters. The square and Main Street are one walk. The Mill on Etowah, the former Canton Cotton Mill No. 1, is a second cluster southwest of downtown, so we list it on its own.

On the square: North Street and the Jones Building

  • POPS (Palermo’s Original Pasta & Sandwiches), 130 E Main St, #206, about 50 m from Cannon Park: house-made pastas and loaded sandwiches in the Historic Jones Building.
  • B&B Social, 130 E Main St, about 50 m: comfort food and cocktails with duckpin bowling, darts and Skee-Ball.
  • Local on North, 170 North St, about 100 m: a New American menu drawn from Georgia regional classics, with live music Friday through Sunday.

East Main Street and South Church Street

  • Tumi Peruvian Restaurant, 190 E Main St, about 75 m: ceviche, lomo saltado and chaufa in a historic storefront.
  • The Salty Mule, 169 S Church St, about 90 m: a silo-themed seafood bar known for oysters and conch fritters.
  • La Cantina on Main, 210 E Main St, about 100 m: Mexican food and cocktails, with dinner shows. Hours not published; its site shows the current day’s hours and no weekly schedule.
  • Mamma Onesta’s Italian Restaurant, 250 E Main St, about 120 m: traditional Italian served family style. The restaurant recommends reservations.
  • C’est La Vie, 361 E Main St, about 375 m: an upscale French menu with an in-house bakery, in a house the walking tour dates to about 1904. Hours not published, and its website was not loading when we checked. Call ahead.

West Main, Marietta and Waleska streets

  • Three Roses Tavern, 117 W Main St: a gastropub and sports bar with scratch-made burgers and 12 draft beers.
  • Goin’ Coastal Seafood, 125 W Main St: a family-owned restaurant focused on sustainable seafood.
  • Queenie’s Southern Restaurant & Bar, 151 W Main St: an upscale take on Southern staples, with inventive cocktails.
  • Panera Bread, 205 W Main St, about 175 m: the chain’s downtown bakery-cafe. Hours not published; its location page did not load for us.
  • The Holler, 301 W Main St, about 290 m: a pet-friendly outdoor bar with a turfed beer garden, comfort food and live music.
  • Downtown Kitchen, 140 E Marietta St, Suite 100, about 115 m: upscale American cooking on a menu that changes daily.
  • New Georgian Hills, 69 Waleska St, about 375 m: family-owned, with Southern breakfast, fried chicken and catfish. Hours not published; its own page is on Facebook, which we could not read.

Map pins for 117, 125 and 151 West Main are approximate, so we give no distance for those three. All three are on West Main Street, west of Cannon Park.

Coffee, sweets and drinks downtown

  • Bizarre Coffee, 121 E Marietta St, about 100 m: an independent coffee shop.
  • Le Macaron French Pastries, 186 North St: macarons and pastries.
  • A Cone to Pick, 175 W Main St: ice cream. Hours not published.
  • Stout’s Growlers, 188 North St: craft beer and growlers.
  • Green Line Brewery, 192 E Main St: a brewery open Thursday to Saturday evenings.

At The Mill on Etowah, 225 Reformation Parkway

The Mill is about 456 m from Cannon Park in a straight line, on the southwest side of downtown. Treat it as its own stop. Its own food page still carries placeholder banners from 2021, so where a tenant’s site and The Mill’s list disagree, we use the tenant’s site. History and events are on our Mill on Etowah page.

  • Restaurants: Magnolia Villa (house-made Italian, Suite 108), Luna Del Rio (Mexican and Latin, with a patio, Suite 106), Campania (Neapolitan pizza from a wood-fired oven), Bully Run (smash burgers, Suite 300) and Rock N Roll Sushi (Suite 122).
  • Drinks: Reformation Brewery (the taproom, with free line-dancing lessons on Tuesday nights, Suite 500), Suds & Bottles (beer and wine, 255 Reformation Pkwy) and Canton Cigar Company (a cigar lounge, Suite 124).
  • Coffee and sweets: Dolce Vita Coffee Company (Suite 104A), Sweety’s Cafe and Tea Room (Suite 104E; book the tea room at least 48 hours ahead), Giggle Monsters Craft Donuts and Kilwins (Suite 400).
  • Whitetail Coffee Company: check before you go. The Mill still lists it with Winter Hours, but Whitetail’s own website now lists its Milton shop and no other.
  • The Mill on Etowah lists its address as 225 Reformation Pkwy, Canton, GA 30114, and its phone as (678) 762-9950. The Mill on Etowah: Contact
  • The Mill's current hours list includes Reformation Brewery, Whitetail Coffee, Giggle Monsters Craft Donuts, Sweet Joy Ice Cream, Nava Taqueria, Magnolia Villa, Fermented Wine Boutique, Cotton Mill Exchange and The Shoppes at The Mill. The Mill on Etowah (official site)

The Mill’s hours list also names Sweet Joy Ice Cream, Nava Taqueria and Fermented Wine Boutique. We could not confirm those three on their own sites, so they have no entry here yet.

Check before you go

Call C’est La Vie, New Georgian Hills, La Cantina on Main, Panera Bread, A Cone to Pick and Whitetail Coffee before you drive in, for the reasons given above.

Parking for a meal

Explore Canton says downtown parking is free, and lists a 102-space deck on West Marietta Street plus lots beside Cannon Park. On event evenings such as First Fridays, spaces on and around Main Street may be limited. Details are on our parking page. To fit a meal into a walk, use the day planner; one of its ready-made plans ends with a pint at The Mill. More stops are on Main Street and things to do.

What we leave out

We do not print prices, star ratings or reservation rules, except where a restaurant states one itself. The City’s list still names Community Burger. Its website returns an error, it is missing from Explore Canton’s directories and its old suite at The Mill is now listed for Bully Run, so we left it off. Older round-ups name places neither current list carries; we do not treat those as open. Chain restaurants on Riverstone Parkway and Marietta Highway, well outside downtown, are not included. If a listing has changed, tell us on the contact page.
